1. From the point of view of a Job seeker what are the opportunities in SAN industry ?

SAN or Storage Area Networking industry is vast & has huge demand for professionals - the industry is exploding due to the high demand of Storage needs for growing data centers, growing news & broadcasting domains you name it every business needs a huge data storage. So imagine Google its gmail gives 2 GB for each mail subscriber so if it gives gmail access to say 1000 new comers every month their data storage need increases at 2 Terra byte or 2000 GB per month - thats a very very minute example of what gmail is actually growing into. Take any news channel they digitise all their content and every day they need more than 100 Terrabyte to store all their video content. So now you can very well understand how the storage needs are exponentially growing.
When storage needs are growing then some of the core storage jobs are growing since all these industries need human resources or technical expertise to handle the operations. I will say there are atleast a 1000 SAN professionals are required every month across all companies and thats increasing in a big way. Its the right time for people on job lookout to get themselves into this high paying & challening industry.

2. How are the salary structure or Package range in Storage Jobs?


I am recieving quite few resumes from people interested in Storage Area Networking or SAN jobs. One of my blog visitor asked me to help him improve his resume & you can see my reply below. I took his old resume which was not in great shape & improved it.
